The Inyo Recreation Company – a division of California Land Management – operates all of the campgrounds around Mammoth Lakes and June Lake on the east side of the Sierra Nevada. Many of the campgrounds are centered on the village of Mammoth Lakes – a well know skiing mecca in the winter – and offer a wide variety of scenic, alpine camping. The Pacific Crest Trail runs through this area near the Devil’s Postpile National Monument.
To the north is the June Lake loop – one of the most beautiful areas in the Sierra Nevada. Camping is available at Oh Ridge, Silver Lake, June Lake, and other locations – all a short drive from Lee Vining, Nevada.
