The historic Snake River country - along the Lewis and Clark Trail - provides ample recreation opportunities for the entire family. Associated with the dam project of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Chief Timothy Park is part of the Snake River Recreation Area. This site - formerly a Washington State Parks - is now operated by Northwest Land Management under a concession lease with the US Army Corps of Engineers. This location offer an oasis of shade and water with all of the attendant recreational activities. It is an extremely popular day use area all summer long. Overnight camping - some with full hook ups - is also available.
